How to make a hair bow was high on my list of things to find out when I started crafting. I did post on that very subject – but it my little ‘craft tutorial’ was obviously lacking somewhat. So here’s an update!
How To Make a Hair Bow – Almost No Sew Craft Tutorial
You will need:
- A rectangle of fabric, plus a little extra
- Needle and thread
- A hair clip
First, gather all your supplies together.
Next, take your fabric, and fold the long edges together…
Take one end, and fold the corners in…
Repeat with the other side and whip a few stitches through all the layers.
Pretty easy so far, right? Of course, you could do all of this with a sewing machine… but it’s easier not to!
Next, turn over the bow and pinch the centre…
When it’s looking pleasing to the eye, whip some stitches through to hold it.
Cute, yes? Now, you can leave it as it is, or put a button in the centre… but I’m going to add a strip of fabric, to add a pop of red.
To do this, grab a square of fabric and roll it into a strip.
Position it on the bow…
Fold the rough edges under, and whip it on.
Then, add your clip – and you’re done!
If you make a bow using this tutorial… I would love to see the results!
